What makes Kori undercarriages so unique is that they are the only U.S. manufactured amphibious undercarriage designed for marsh conditions and stump-studded swamp terrain. 

They are built to handle big payloads - up to 25 tons.  Some of the design features that make Kori undercarriages so strong and reliable include:

1. Wiper pads that clean mud and other materials form the undercarriage bottom, allowing each track to work freely with minimal friction.

 2. Plastic support blocks that act as buffers between the aluminum cleats and pontoon bottom to prevent permanent cleat deflection when crossing uneven terrain.

3. Astralloy rub and wear strips that provide the same hardness as chain rollers for greater undercarriage durability.

4. 6061-T6 marine-grade alloy aluminum cleats are bolted to special roller chains and are designed with thicker web and flanges to better support the payload.

5. U.S.S. Cor-Ten Steel  is utilized as the skin on all  Kori pontoons for additional strength.  Cor-Ten Steel is five to eight times more corrosion-resistant than ASTM A36 Steel, allowing Kori undercarriages to operate in salt water or other corrosive conditions with out compromising structural integrity. 

6. I-beams that are welded into the undercarriage bottoms form a strong understructure that is capable of carrying heavy payloads without buckling, bending, twisting, or crackling. These beams work with the bulkheads to distribute weight evenly across the bottom of the undercarriage.

7. Vertical bulkheads along the length of the pontoon that add rigidity and distribute payload weight.  They form six separate watertight compartments to ensure adequate buoyancy - even if one compartment becomes flooded.
